Sherardized Finish
Sherardizing is a process to deposit Zinc on to the clips, similar to Galvanising, but using a physical deposition rather than hot dipping. The colours are applied as an additional paint layer on top of the Sherardizing. This process protects the clips from corrosion and is a mandatory requirement by Network Rail in the following areas:Wet tunnels
Coastal sites
Platform areas
Level crossings
Aggressive chemical environments (e.g. adjacent to heavily salted roads)
